I had a Gibson and amp ripped from a shop we used to jam in and this exact thing happened to me, I went and saw the stuff to confirm then said I'll go to the instabank and be right back with the cash, then called the cops who came back with me! Safe way to go about it perhaps?

check the serial # on the air and see if it matches your # from the registration. if it does, just take it from him.
