I'm going to have to remember that next time I fly. "These handguns? Oh, I work for Google in their black ops division. The explosives? I'm also on a spam control team with Gmail. Thanks, you have a nice day, too."

I have no problems flying with guns checked into baggage in a locked case. TSA rep comes over, I unlock it and open it up so they can see everything is stored IAW FAA and DHS regulations and then I lock it back up. The luggage is then watched by TSA until it boards the plane...usually the first bags on the plane. I NEVER lose luggage. "These handguns are provided to me by way of the second amendment." I've only been pestered about them ONCE and I shut them down pretty quickly by flashing a government ID card and a red passport. Now I grab my luggage and head to the rental car/cab. Before the vehicle leaves the curb I'm legally packing again. I never really thought about the United States Constitution and amendments to it until I got back to the United States after living for the last 13 years in Europe and the Middle East and seen how quickly some of them are starting to be eroded away in the false name of "homeland security". Well that and out of all the countries I've traveled through I only felt "threatened" at any time in the US and the Middle East.

Note: the handgun-through-baggage-control trick only works when flying US domestic. Problems occur when flying commercial outside the US and carrying an M4 rifle in a locked case, which is why it's RARE to see it anymore. Flying military is a lot quicker. Clips in a bag, bolt removed from rifle and stored in cargo pocket, rifle hand-carried, handgun unloaded in holster, then get on the fsck'ing plane NOW! Also of note, never, ever, ever, ever travel anywhere commercially with ANYONE who is actually in spec ops, special forces, etc. They ALWAYS set off the explosive detectors and strips and wind up getting you delayed. Bastards. Thank the gods those days are behind me. Working for the U.S. government/military is like masturbating with a cheese grater: slightly amusing but mostly painful.
